Description:
Villa

Nestled 25km from Florence in the Chianti wine region, Villa Terreno provides a fun and relaxing holiday with the unique experience of exploring Tuscany on horseback. Ideal for families, couples, singles and groups, we look forward to welcoming you at Villa Terreno. For accomodation, we offer five rooms with bath in a historic Tuscan villa housing a maximum of 12 people. Available also is a separate apartment which sleeps four, with kitchenette, fireplace and deck. Traditional tuscan meals are served in the Villa's main room which features a large inviting fireplace. 86 acres of rolling forest and farmland at the foot of the Tuscan alpine hills make up today's Villa Terreno. It was purchased in the year 2000 by the Malenotti family and has since benefitted from careful restoration. Historic structures have been restored by family and friends, and systems laid to give the facilities modern comforts. Originally owned by the Piccardi family, the grounds of Villa Terreno once held a "Borgo", or small village, complete with its own church. The main structure was the home of the landowner who oversaw the work of local farmers working his land. Parts of the structure date from the 1400's, with more recent additions in the 1860's when the building was converted to a school for area children. Renovation was completed in 2003. The chapel, containing the graves of the Piccardi family, was built in 1795 and remains a consecrated space. Restoration was finished in 2005.
